  • 50% of mental health disorders develop by age 14

ACE

  • Two-thirds of adults experience at least one ACE with over half reporting more than one

  • Physical abuse, exposure to substance abuse in the home, and emotional neglect are the highest reported ACE

  • 1 in 7 children experienced at least one ACE in the last year

  • Those with >6 ACE have shorter life expectancy by 20 years

  • Cost estimated at $124 billion to society

  • Children in low socioeconomic (SES) homes are 5 times as likely to experience abuse and neglect
